The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has announced that the Matric results for 2023 will be released on January 20th. Angie Motshekga, the Minister of Basic Education, will announce the results of the final exam on January 19, 2023.

Will Matric Exam Results 2023 Be Published In Newspapers?
Yes, Matric results will be published in newspapers, as they are every year. Newspapers typically sell out quickly, so you should buy them as soon as they are published.

Will My Name Be Published In The Newspaper?
No, your name will not be published in the newspaper. In fact, your personal information will be safeguarded at all times. The (POPI) Protection of Personal Information Act, also known as the POPIA Act, is to blame for this.
Your examination number will be the only thing that appears in the newspaper. This number is only given to you (Matric student) prior to the final exam. You will be the only person who has access to your examination number, which no one else will.

He also states that if Matric students do not provide written permission, the department will not publish their results.

Using your Identity Document (ID), you can obtain your Matric results in the following ways:

Results of the Independent Examination Board (IEB)
The Independent Examination Board (IEB) is a South African assessment agency. They provide exams to a variety of academic institutions, the majority of which are private schools. Students who took the IEB’s final exams will receive their Matric results from the IEB. You can obtain your IEB results in the following manner:

On the IEB website, you can register to receive your results. Here’s how you can finish this process:
Register your information on the IEB website.
As requested, provide your exam number and date of birth.
You will be able to see your results SMS after registering your information.
The steps to get your Matric Results via SMS are outlined below.
Open your mobile device’s SMS menu.
Enter your exam number and date of birth in the following format: yyyy/mm/dd

Your Matric results are available at the school where you took your final Matric exam. Please contact your school to find out when you can pick up your Matriculation results.

Do Matriculation Results Expire?
Matriculation results do not expire.
Your Matric results will be delivered to you in the form of a statement of results and a Matric Certificate.
While the results statement is temporary and will expire, your Matric results and Matric Certificate are permanent. It will always be true.
How Many Subjects Do I Need for Matriculation?
Matric requires seven subjects in high school. You must pass all seven subjects or six subjects to pass Matric. Please keep in mind that you can fail one subject and still pass Matric. However, this should not be your first language.
What Happens If I Fail Two Matric Subjects?
You fail the class if you fail two subjects in Matric. In this case, you must apply for a rewriting course in order to rewrite your final exam. Matric College is where you can apply for the Rewrite Matric Course.
You can rewrite a minimum of four subjects with the Rewrite Matric Course. We also provide you with tutors and study materials to help you succeed in the course. You simply study and prepare for the final exam in this course.
When you pass the final exam, you will be awarded a Matric Qualification by Umalusi.
What Happens If My Rewrite Fails?
If you fail the rewrite exam, you will be given another chance. You can rewrite as many times as you want at Matric College. However, we make certain that you have enough resources to pass the rewrite exam the first time you take it. Among these resources are:
